Our collaborative nature is the backbone of our company. We bring our unique backgrounds and expertise to the table to craft exceptional brands, websites and marketing strategies. An intentionally small team, we work directly with every one of our clients and know the details of their projects. No middlemen. No account managers. Jonathan Hatch has been a web developer, writer, and staunch opponent of clowns at children’s parties since 2004. In 2006, he graduated from Bemidji State University with a BA in philosophy, a BFA in professional writing, and a master’s in English. The road less traveled seemed like a brilliant idea at the time, so he chose to build a web development company instead of teaching rhetoric on the web, as his professors expected he might. Ten years later his experience in information architecture, web design, and front-end development have become cornerstones of the projects Saint Paul Media does for local non-profits and businesses. As the owner of a small business and the founder of his own nonprofit 501(c)(3), he is uniquely positioned to offer strategic counsel to organizations of similar size, scope, and mission. Jonathan happily resides on the West Side of Saint Paul with his lovely wife, two pugs, and kitties. If he doesn’t have a mouse in hand he’s likely tempting fate with his table saw attempting to become a master woodworker.
Tasha has spent her life being introduced by friends as “a creative.” She embraces it whole-heartedly. She spent her college years in Duluth receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UMD where she learned not only how to develop a brand but also a thing or two about CSS and HTML, although she prefers to leave the coding to Sean and Jonathan. As the Creative Director of Saint Paul Media, Tasha is responsible for leading visual design on client and in-house projects. She considers herself a curious, life-long learner and while graphic design is her main role at SPM she also enjoys assisting with the research and UX phases of the web development process. Tasha typically works remotely from Duluth but often travels to Saint Paul for client meetings. In her free time she is often found in a tent, on her mountain bike, or attempting to garden.
Sean battles site statistics, errors in coding, and his cat, Sir Eena, daily. He is vastly overeducated, having several master’s degrees including a MS in Instructional Design, MA in English, BFA in Creative and Professional Writing and a PhD in mythological studies. Sean has a vast knowledge and understanding of back-end development technologies. He specializes in data analysis and behavior tracking, using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (and their subsidiary components) as his primary tools. More importantly, he knows exactly what they mean, how to explain them, and how they can be applied to clients’ websites. He also provides support for information architecture, heuristics, and analytics, as well as database intensive integrative technologies. When he’s not comparing data sets you can find him immersed in a video game or perfecting his chili recipe.
Julianne is the Junior Developer. For client projects, she oversees usability testing and contributes to front-end development and quality assurance. In addition, she lightens the administrative load for Jonathan, Tasha and Sean as Saint Paul Media’s office manager. Julianne lives in Minneapolis with her partner and their cat, a sixteen-pound orange tabby. When she’s not helping out around the office, she enjoys biking, reading mystery novels and listening to podcasts (lots and lots of podcasts).
