Amber Luck was one of Saint Paul Media's earliest contributors, and her writing can be found all over How to Get Rid of Things, How to Clean Things, and Nature's Treatments. She published her first How to Get Rid of Things article in early 2007, about a year after earning her Master's degree in English from Bemidji State University, where she had already graduated once before, in 2003, with a Bachelor's degree in English. She got to know Jonathan Hatch when they took a handful of the same graduate courses and attended several of the same wine-soaked gatherings of English majors.

Besides being a part-time writer for Saint Paul Media, Amber is also a part-time bookseller with Barnes & Noble and a sometime part-time English instructor at a suburban Minneapolis technical college. She shares a tiny but charming apartment on an historic St. Paul street with her fiancé and fellow writer Eric Ronning and their two cats, Nina and Piper.

Amber believes that she spends far too much of her time working, and would like to devote more of it to writing fiction, reading as widely as possible, cooking, crocheting, enjoying good food and drink, traveling, and engaging in noncompetitive outdoor activities (especially hiking, camping, stargazing, and cross-country skiing).
